How I work
Below is a rough guide of my workflow should you choose to book me. Give me a shout if you have any further questions and to check availability.
- The Enquiry. Like the images you see on this site? Let me know what your date is and I will check whether I have availability on that day.
- An Introductory Chat. I am available, we should have a quick chat, online or in person (if logistically possible) just to introduce ourselves and for me to get an idea of the logistics of your big day.
- Booking. If you are happy to proceed with the booking at this point I ask that you sign my photographers contract and pay a 25% deposit to confirm your date.
- The Wedding Consultation. The wedding consultation/meeting is included in my rates. If at all possible, I would love to have a wedding consultation at the proposed wedding venue. This allows me to get an idea of exactly how the day will flow so that I am always in the right place at the right time to capture moments as they unfold. If it’s not possible to have the consultation at the venue I will either arrive extra early at the respective venue’s on the day, or visit them before the wedding day on my own to do a quick scout.
- The Wedding Shoot. By the day of the Wedding I will have a complete understanding of the logistics for the shoot (we will lock down all the details during the wedding consultation). Once the shoot is completed I will back-up the wedding files on site before leaving for home and make another off-site backup when I am back in the studio so that your images are stored safely in 2 physical locations.
- Teaser Images. I send through a selection of 30 teaser images within 48 hours of the wedding shoot for you to share with your family and guests.
- Post Production. After making a selection of the very best photographs I work on each image individually. This involves working on colour correcting, cropping, tonal curves, and contrast. For most images, I create both a colour and a black and white version. The amount of final images you receive is ultimately dependant on the logistics of the day but for a 6 hour shoot you can expect to receive a minimum of 400 images. Turn around time for the final post production can vary depending on how busy I am at the time, but generally you should receive your final images within 3 weeks of the wedding shoot.
- Final Delivery Of Images. Your final images are delivered digitally via WeTransfer once final payment is received.
- Albums and Prints. If you choose to have an album printed I suggest that you make a selection of your favourite images once you have received them, I will then create the album design using this selection and possibly some of my own favourite images.
